  • Congratulations Chef Kashia

    My City Kitchen Board of Directors congratulate its Founder and Chef, Kashia Cave  for being named in Michele Reis, PH.D. latest book; Who’s Who in the Trinidad and Tobago Diaspora.  The book celebrates Trinibagonians at home and around the world who have dedicated themselves to their careers, community and country. Some of Trinidad & Tobago natives recognized in the book are: American poet Maya Angelou, singer Billy Ocean, Grammy nominated singer and broadway actress Heather Headley; Grammy winner and pop icon Nicki Minaj, actresses Nia Long,  Tatyana Ali; NBA legion Kareem Abdul Jabbar  and  Hubert Fauntleroy Julian (21 September 1897 – 19 February 1983) was a Trinidad-born African American aviator. He was nicknamed The Black Eagle, plus many more. We are very proud of your accomplishments.

  • Pro Skate-Boarder Doug Brown

    Doug Brown stopped by MCK over the summer to motivate our students to be, and stay active in sports. He is founder of  his highly acclaimed Skate Straight Program.  Doug has proven to be more than just a skateboarder. Behind his contagious smile and charisma is a wide range of talents and a strong sense of determination. Brown wholeheartedly believes in positive change and the importance of hope and optimism. Notable causes and philanthropy include involvement with Athletes For Hope, American Red Cross, St.Baldrick’s Foundation, SADD, and his own Skate Straight Program. Television appearances on NBC’s Good Co.Today Show, Much Music Television, 54321, Fuel TV, ABC Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports, Planet X, Xcorps TV, and Sports Talk.   • Meriden Farmer’s Market

    Chef Kashia and her students recently did a cooking demo at the Meriden Farmers Market.  All the Ingredients came from participating farmers and Beat the Street Community Garden, located at the corner of Pratt and East Main Street, in Meriden. We made pesto pasta primavera and fresh fruit salad, attendees got the opportunity to sample everything.
