This award was giving by the Meriden Board of Education Committee. The Community Support Award strive to recognize those business partners, organizations and individuals that have demonstrated outstanding support for the Meriden public schools.

    My City Kitchen, Inc. (MCK), organization is seeking local community representatives to serve on the Board of Directors.

    MCK is a non-profit organization that seeks to instill healthy eating habits, build self-esteem, foster a sense of belonging, and establish basic life skills in our children so that they may grow into healthy adults. MCK envisions a future where all Meriden children and youth have healthy eating habits, good self-esteem, are physically fit, and childhood obesity is eliminated.

    Do you or someone you know have skills and time to dedicate to a growing non-profit? Are you interested in contributing to the MCK mission? If so, please join the MCK Board for an Open House and Information night.

    MCK is looking for local volunteers with the following skills/experience:

    * Database management/Microsoft Access
    * Blogging/WordPress
    * Grant writing
