Date: 2014.07.26 | Category: Archives, Current Events, Photos, Press, Special Events | Response: 0

July summer camp has come to and end, the kids did so much cooking, learning about nutrition, field trips to local farms, visit local Restaurants to learn how to make authentic  foods, and did taste testing.  On there last day we had an all out on a POW-WOW; with the help of our wonderful parent volunteers we took the group to Quassy Water Park and other family members joined in on our family fun day. See you in September kids.

Ask A Connecticut Chef: Easy 4th Of July Recipes

There are many tried-and-true recipes that moms and dads trot out on the 4th of July. This year, why not try something a little different from the traditional burgers, dogs and three-bean salads? Chef Kashia Cave from Meriden’s  My City Kitchen hails from Trinidad and Tobago and suggests this year that cooks should mark Independence Day by declaring their independence from the standard July 4th fare. Here are three easy, healthy and great-tasting recipes with a distinctly Caribbean flair that she believes will provide the culinary counterpart to the evening’s fireworks. .

We had such a wonderful time working with our military kids and families. Great Presentation, and the kids had so much fun working with Chef Kashia. It was an honor to serve these great service men and women, not forgetting their children. Thank you for ALL you do.
